Don't forget your everything
a poem
Don’t forget your everything
Nothing’s more important
Don’t mislay your bits and bobs
You’ll need them on your way
Don’t abandon your convictions,
Your anchors in the storm
Don’t discard what has shaped you
It will keep you clear and warm
Don’t neglect your private silence
That stillness, rich and deep
Don’t mislay your quirky musings
They’re you and yours to keep
Don’t ignore your essence
It’s the truest part of you
Never let it be repressed
For it’s ancient, pure and true
